The Miniblogs of 2023MayMiniblog, 7th of May - I've been thinking a lot about this website lately, about how i should shift towards my style more. I don't like most of the articles that i've written, in particular the windows ones. Why did i focus on classic windows of all things specifically? I think my best articles are the ones that people can actually relate to. To be frank, i've been thinking of removing these articles entirely. I probably won't though, i wasted so much time on them and there's no harm in them. Anyways, i've decided to remove the RSS Feed. It's too cumbersome of me to maintain, and most likely no one uses it. Speaking of cumbersome, i wanted to remove miniblogs too but i didn't because sometimes they're life updates to some degree. That's it, you may now go back to your business. Miniblog, 1st of May - Man, it sure is tough having to write miniblogs every time i post an article because of some arbitrary rule i made. I guess every page has a sidebar now, hooray? Just read the new article if you want to get informed. Also, i am quitely abandoning that policy where every miniblog was around the same length. I also did that with every initial paragraph on my articles too. If you see something broken (hopefully not) then feel free to report it and also laugh at my face. AprilMiniblog, 13th of April - As i've promised, i did do some organization on this website. The most important part is that i've introduced PHP to some of the elements on this website! Probably none of you will remember this, but last year i promised that i would implement PHP in some kind of introduction article. I was completely clueless then, and PHP wouldn't have actually done me any favours with the website layout that i had. Right now, i am only using PHP to render the sidebar and the copyright date but i'll eventually use it for certain archive links. I also updated some articles by providing additional images, more info, etc. I actually wrote a new article two days ago, and it's about 80% done so do expect a new article tommorow. Miniblog, 12th of April - It's been quite a while and i've decided to get around finishing that one article that i promised last time. I've mostly just been really invested in other things, and i kind of forgot about this website. I think it's a shame really, i should be uploading stuff more often and i hope i'll accomplish that this month. The upcoming month will be important for this website! Also, this article took really long to make, even by my standards. I only actually started to write it a couple of days ago of course, but it is still really long. I think it's almost 2000 words long and i cut out a lot of my opinions. Either way, expect several more articles to come out this month! I'll be organizing stuff behind the scenes too. FebruaryMiniblog, 17th of February - I've finally reimplemented the RSS feed! That took me a lot longer than it should have but i mostly just forgot about it. With the RSS feed, you can get updates to the latest articles and miniblogs! So from now on, i won't announce when i've posted a new article in the aftersleep chatroom anymore. One last thing though, i could really use a better RSS feed graphic. Right now, the icon doesn't really fit in with the website's aesthetic with the rounded corners and all. If someone could create a better RSS graphic for me, that'd be great! It should be in 16x16 and shaped like a square. If possible, try not to use too many colors like the current icon does. Thank you for your patience! Miniblog, 16th of February - The gold release of Windows 98 FE was very unstable, even more so than the other releases of Windows 9x. It had lots of driver problems, and don't forget that hideous toolbar! On the other hand, i'd say that the hate Windows ME gets is unjustified. Sure, it did remove the ability to restart into MS-DOS mode and also gimped some previously existing drivers, but it did bring some multimedia programs that XP gets credited for. Even without real-mode functionality, it's compatibility with MS-DOS programs was still much better compared to NTVDM amd it also brings a lot of quality of life improvements such as USB storage drivers and an improved explorer shell! Miniblog, 7th of February - This is completely unrelated to anything, just putting this out there. If aftersleep wasn't a thing, i probably would have been hosting my website as a Github page. I wouldn't have that 1GB of storage i would on Neocities but that doesn't really matter when all i'm doing is writing articles right? Hell, there are probably more than a couple of websites that just have socials attached to them and nothing else. What really matters to me is that Github pages can be viewed by any browser that supports TLS 1.2, such as Retrozilla. I actually do already have a Github website that i may or may not share in the future! It's not really tailored for older browsers though... Miniblog, 1st of February - Yeah, this website has been dead for a while. I decided to just start from scratch all over again since it was kind of difficult to work off of my previous website as a base. Not only did i want to create additional pages for this website, but i also wanted to modify all of my previous articles. But these plans fell through, not because it was impossible but because i eventually realized this website wasn't big enough for that kind of organization. However, i've formed some different takes since then and i feel like my writing has improved by a lot from writing these articles. I guess i'll just do it all over again! I'm kind of excited to eventually post completely new articles, i've got MANY ideas. Copyright ©2022-2023 UserPenalties |
