Miniblog, 7th of May - I've been thinking a lot about this website lately, about how i should shift towards my style more. I don't like most of the articles that i've written, in particular the windows ones. Why did i focus on classic windows of all things specifically? I think my best articles are the ones that people can actually relate to. To be frank, i've been thinking of removing these articles entirely. I probably won't though, i wasted so much time on them and there's no harm in them. Anyways, i've decided to remove the RSS Feed. It's too cumbersome of me to maintain, and most likely no one uses it. Speaking of cumbersome, i wanted to remove miniblogs too but i didn't because sometimes they're life updates to some degree. That's it, you may now go back to your business.

(01/05/2023) - New comment section!
Oh yeah, this is happening! I've had different plans this month such as posting more articles, but out of curiosity i decided to try making a comment section in PHP. I already knew of one website that had accomplished this, but i was discouraged at first because the website in question has so much going on behind the scenes to the point that it has it's own DATABASE. I really didn't think it was possible, but i've managed to implement it in around the same capacity which opens up a lot of possibilities.

Welcome!

I go by UserPenalties, and this is my personal website. This website wasn't made to just be retro, it is my own personal website and a lot of the design choices are intentional. I mainly write articles about my experiences with computers and such, and so i will be writing a lot of different stuff on here. This website has been made to work on older browsers, and it will load very quickly. It should render nicely on a 386 with Netscape Navigator 3 on Windows 95 Gold!

As for why i created this website, it's a long story. I used to upload videos on a youtube channel, but that wasn't going to cut it. I couldn't just jump from one style of content to another, and without any novelty factor i couldn't get anyone to really stay and talk. I didn't care about having a large audience, all i really wanted was people to come by and maybe leave an interesting comment for me to read! In the end, making a website turned out to be the better choice, as the people i've met over here are miles better than anyone i could have found over at youtube.

It also didn't help that my content was mediocre at best, i was just better off writing articles! I was definitely interested in website creation at the time, and so i considered creating a website specifically for my youtube channel where i would also write articles. There is a lot more behind the story, but basically that newer happened and i stopped making videos. Afterwards, i had found the website of my friend dvd3000 and he eventually got the aftersleep domain! You can probably imagine how the rest of this played out...

So what is aftersleep anyway? In short, aftersleep is a collection of websites. Every member of aftersleep can create their own website under the aftersleep domain, and they can also get an aftersleep email address! While you can view the actual website for more information, do know that it allows unsecure connections. If you want to get your website working on archaic browsers, then this is a major point! While you may not get that single gigabyte of storage space as you would on Neocities, it's not exactly a "needle in the haystack" situation when people find your website.

And that's about it for the introduction part! Navigating this website is done through this little sidebar on the left, which is also present on some other pages. If you want to contact me, you can reach me through email or find me on the aftersleep chatbox! As for social media platforms, forget about it. In any case, have fun browsing my website!
